Sleepwell Foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Sheela Group. With 11 plants in India, 6 in Australia/New Zealand, and 1 in Spain. Sheela Group is the top producer of P.U. Foam in Asia Pacific. ‘Sleepwell’ the most trusted Bedding brand in India, ‘Feather Foam’ the most preferred brand for cushioning & furniture and ‘Lamiflex’ the superior quality Polyether and Polyester Foam for Lamination are the flagship brands of the Group.

Sleepwell Foundation was registered in 2001, with an objective to implement Corporate Social Responsibilities of the Group in a focussed manner. It is exempted under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961 by Director of Income Tax Exemption, New Delhi.

Since its inception, Sleepwell Foundation has been active in various areas which include Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Proactive Wellness etc. of national interest. The activities are done independently as well as in association with renowned Organizations like FICCI-FLO, NDMC, CII, EDMC, Delhi Police, Sanjivini Society for Mental Health, PRAYATN, CED Foundation, IIMPACT, Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya and several others.

Mrs. Namita Gautam

Professionally qualified in Corporate Law, Mrs. Namita Gautam is a Director of ‘Sheela’ Group of Companies since 1984. An experienced Human Resource Specialist with extensive knowledge in Training & Development, Project Management, Communication, Marketing & Brand Building she has held various positions in the Group including that of Director-Personnel & Administration, Human Resources, Marketing and Projects. Her leadership and organizational skills have also been a key driver towards the success of Sleepwell Products.

Mrs. Gautam was the National President of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) in the year 2004-05. She is currently an active member of the Governing Body & Past Presidents Council of FLO and Executive Committee Member of SAARC Countries Women Entrepreneurs Council (SCWEC), India.

Her strong conviction to work towards ‘Empowerment of Women’ led Sheela Group to adopt Jijabai ITI for Women, Sirifort, Delhi, under the Public-Private-Partnership programme of Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Labour, Government of India in the year 2009 (Now Under Ministry of Skill Development), wherein she is the Chairperson of its Institute Management Committee.

She is a Member of Special Task Force on Skills & Education, CII (Confederation of Indian Industries), Northern Region.

Mrs. Gautam is closely associated with several Organisations like The Hunger Project, Community Education and Development Foundation, Sanjivini Society for Mental Health etc. and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary Club.

In recognition of her achievement and contribution to the society, she was conferred the prestigious Devi Award by The Sunday Standard, The New Indian Express Group in 2016.

Mr. Rahul Gautam

A Chemical Engineer from IIT Kanpur, India with a Master’s Degree from Polytechnic Institute of New York, USA., Mr. Gautam is the Chairman cum Managing Director of Sheela Group of Companies in India and Chairman of Joyce Foam Pty Ltd., Australia.

The Flagship Company of the Group, Sheela Foam Ltd. was formed in 1971 by him and his mother Mrs. Sheela Gautam. With his vision, intense zeal and highly focused approach, Sheela Group has not only achieved enviable growth in the past, but is also pushing itself to scale greater heights. Today, Sheela Group is the largest manufacturer of flexible Polyurethane Foam and comfort products in the country having manufacturing units at multiple locations in India and Australia and Spain. ‘Sleepwell’ is the largest selling Mattress of India. Recently in 2018, Sheela Foam has been awarded as the Star SME by Business Standard.

Mr. Gautam is one of the founders of the Indian Poly Urethane Association (IPUA) and its Chairman Emeritus, a fraternity of Polyurethane manufacturers, raw material suppliers and machinery manufacturers, across the country. He has represented IPUA in many global Industry meets. He is Founder Member of Global PU Forum, which has received positive response across the world. Under his dynamic leadership, many Polyurethane Summits have been successfully held.

He is a keen sports person and actively supports Badminton across the country and enjoys reading books on Management & Philosophy. Mr. Rahul Gautam has established the “Rahul & Namita Chair” at IIT, Kanpur in January 2008 for the promotion of research. In 2017, he has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of IITK, Kanpur.

Very recently, he has been conferred with Doctorate by the European International University, Paris, in recognition of his visionary contribution to Global Leadership & Management.

Dr. Rubina Mittal

Dr. Rubina Mittal studies and practices the art of running successful enterprises. A Ph.D. in Operations Management from Delhi University, she specializes in marketing research, project scheduling, logistics etc.

She is the Managing Partner of the family-run firms Balaji Exims, The Royal Marquee and Delhi Tents and Decorators (DTD) – one of India’s oldest and largest temporary infrastructure providers.

She implements best practices by combining her technical knowledge with her creativity and passion in all their projects.

Under her leadership, DTD’s dedicated employee force creates designs and infrastructures that support the grand scale of today’s events, weddings and exhibitions.

Rubina Mittal brings same vision and requirement for perfection as a Professor at Delhi University, Co-chair of Education Committee at PHD chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as being a very diligent and active member at FICCI-FLO.

Ms. Nirmala Tandon

Ms. Nirmala Tandon did her Masters in History, and BEd. from Allahabad University. She is also an Alumnus of The Harvard Business School, where she did a programme on Strategic Perspectives in Non Profit Management in 2015.

She has 33 years experience in the education sector, including 18 years as school teacher, and was Senior faculty and Head of Department of History, as well as Coordinator for teacher training workshops and social initiatives at Delhi Public School.

Subsequently, she joined IIMPACT as honorary COO and later as CEO of IIMPACT, an NGO providing free primary education to poor out of school girls from socially and economically backward rural areas of India. For 15 years, IIMPACT has grown under her leadership and now operates in 1,650 villages in 11 states educating 65,000 girls.

She has travelled extensively in remote rural villages of UP, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan and Haryana, working at the grass roots level to bring more and more underprivileged girls to benefit from high quality education.

Her inspiring story was featured in Readers Digest in 2011, and in 2014, in a book: “The Small Big Bang”. She is currently on the Board of IIMPACT and a Chairperson of Donor Council.
