Menstrual Health Workshops

A Menstrual Health and Hygiene Awareness Workshop was conducted on 18th and 21st April 2026 at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Madanpur Khadar, New Delhi, by Sleepwell Foundation for Class 7 students, with 349 participants. The session aimed to build awareness around puberty, menstrual health, and hygiene practices while addressing common myths and misconceptions. It began with an age-appropriate video introducing adolescence and the physical, emotional, and psychological changes during this stage. Interactive discussions helped normalize puberty for both girls and boys, followed by a clear explanation of menstruation as a natural biological process. Visual aids such as anatomical diagrams enhanced conceptual understanding. Students actively engaged in Q&A sessions, sharing doubts that were addressed with sensitivity. Key focus areas included menstrual hygiene practices, safe use of sanitary products, and proper disposal methods, supported by a live demonstration. Myth-busting discussions helped reduce stigma, while games and quizzes reinforced learning. The session concluded successfully, fostering confidence, awareness, and open dialogue among students.
