2-8 December 2024: The Annual Examinations for the Paramedical Courses – OTT, MLT, CMET, and GDA – began on 6th December 2024, conducted offline in physical mode.

2-8 December 2024: As part of a series of 10 Emotional Wellness Workshops, Sleepwell Foundation conducted an online session on Emotional Wellness and First Aid for Sheela Foam employees. The CSR Head of SDC Khurja actively participated in the workshop to gain insights into improving mental and emotional well-being.

Support for Sainik School Entrance Preparation

2-8 December 2024: Several students from Primary School Rohinda, hailing from extremely poor families, have joined the Sainik School Coaching at SDC Khurja. As these children couldn't afford guidebooks for the Sainik School Entrance Examination, the Sleepwell Foundation took the initiative to procure and distribute these essential materials to them.

Workshop on PowerPoint for DAV BSR College

2-8 December 2024: Mr. Shekhar Sharma, an IT Trainer, conducted a workshop on effectively using MS PowerPoint to create impactful presentations for the NEP trainees at DAV PG College, Bulandshahr.

Workshop on Sensitizing Paramedical Trainees at SDC Khurja

2-8 December 2024: A workshop was conducted for the Paramedical Trainees at SDC Khurja to sensitize them about the various job roles within different paramedic trades, emphasizing the dignity of labor. Soft Skills Trainer Disha Verma, along with the Paramedical Faculty, discussed key aspects of the job areas for GDA, CMET, and OTT.

MOU Signed to Provide Internship Opportunities at Felix Hospital

25-30 November 2024: Many trainees from our Paramedical course at SDC are nearing the completion of their training and will soon be eligible for internships. In a significant step to facilitate these opportunities, the CSR Head signed an MoU with Felix Hospital, securing internships for eight trainees at the hospital.

CSR Head Meets Noida International Airport Officials to Support Youth in Jewar Area

25-30 November 2024: As part of ongoing efforts to support needy and unemployed youth from the Jewar Airport area, the CSR Head met with Col Ajesh Verma, Head of Security and Safety at Noida International Airport, Jewar. They discussed potential collaborations to benefit the local youth.

Internship Trainees Review at Sharda Hospital

18-24 November 2024: Mr. Vikash Kaushik, Paramedical Trainer, and Mr. Girija Shankar Chauhan visited Sharda Hospital, Greater Noida, to assess the progress of OTT and DMLT trainees currently undergoing internships. They met with hospital officials and collected valuable feedback on the trainees' performance and development.

Celebration of Chairman Emeritus Sheela Gautam's Birth Anniversary

11-17 November 2024: The birth anniversary of our Chairman Emeritus, Sheela Gautam, was celebrated on November 15, 2024. Staff and trainees paid floral tributes and learned about her inspiring life and vision. The CSR Head, in his address, highlighted Sheela Ma’am’s philanthropic legacy, noting how she was ahead of her time in prioritizing the welfare of underprivileged youth. She founded the Skill Development Centre (SDC) with the goal of improving the lives of these young individuals.

Children's Day Celebration at SDC Khurja

11-17 November 2024: Children's Day was celebrated at the Skill Development Centre (SDC) in Khurja on November 14, 2024. The event featured fun-filled activities for the children, and sweets were distributed to them. The CSR Head addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of retaining the values and virtues present in children throughout their lives.

CSR Committee Meeting of Sheelafoam and Sleepwell Foundation Trustees

11-17 November 2024: The XIth Meeting of the CSR Committee of Sheelafoam and the Trustees of the Sleepwell Foundation took place at the Skill Development Centre (SDC) in Khurja on November 13, 2024. The meeting covered detailed discussions on the functioning, challenges, and future prospects of the Skill Development Centre. Additionally, the CSR activities of the Sleepwell Foundation were also reviewed.

Paramedical Trainees' Visit to DPMI for Exposure

11-17 November 2024: Trainees from the Paramedical Courses visited DPMI as part of their exposure program. During the visit, they were given a tour of the campus and provided with insights into the future prospects available to them upon successful completion of their courses.

The CSR Head visited THDC, Dasahra, and met CSR Manager Shri Rakesh Uniyal to discuss the potential expansion of CSR initiatives in the region. He also toured TATA STRIVE, a similar organization, to gain insights into their methodologies, challenges, and the impact of their programs.

Smt. Poonam Bacheti, Director of DPMI, visited the Skill Development Centre (SDC) in Khurja, where she was given a tour of the facilities and ongoing training activities. Dr. Pankaj Mathur of Felix Welfare Foundation Visits SDC Khurja

Dr. Pankaj Mathur, Senior General Manager of Felix Welfare Foundation, the CSR arm of Felix Hospitals, visited SDC Khurja. During his visit, he engaged in discussions with the CSR Head regarding potential collaboration opportunities to provide internships and placement support for the trainees of SDC.

CSR Head Attends Gram Jan Chaupal at Bichola Village

At the invitation of Khurja Block Pramukh Smt. Monika Singh, the CSR Head attended the Gram Jan Chaupal at Bichola Village, a weekly gathering of all Village Pramukhs. During the event, he briefed the Pramukhs about the welfare activities and initiatives of SDC Khurja, encouraging their participation and inviting them to visit the Centre.

13 Students from Primary School, Mirpur Join Sainik Schools Coaching

7-13 October 2024: Thirteen students from Primary School, Mirpur, have joined the Sainik Schools Coaching program under the auspices of Col Gautam Academy. This initiative aligns with the Academy's mission to uplift the underprivileged sections of society.

7-13 October 2024: Students from Primary School, Mirpur, participating in the Sainik Schools Coaching under Col Gautam Academy received computer lessons from the Academy's staff. The students were thrilled with their exposure to PCs.

CSR Head and Team Visit Public Inter College, Meerpur

7-13 October 2024: The CSR Head, along with other team members, visited Public Inter College in Meerpur to identify students eligible for the current Sainik Schools Entrance Examination. A total of 34 students were found to meet the age eligibility criteria and were invited to the Centre with their parents for counselling.

AFT Trainees Prepare for Upcoming Physical Fitness Tests

7-13 October 2024: Several AFT trainees have successfully qualified the SSC GD and AGNIVEER written tests and are set to appear for their Physical Fitness Test soon. Intensive physical training, supervised by Mr. Youngveer, is underway to ensure a 100% success rate.

Girl Trainees Celebrate Navratri with Trek to Khurja Mata Mandir

30 September - 6 October 2024: On the first day of the auspicious Navratri, girl trainees from the Col Gautam Academy for Armed Forces undertook a 15-kilometer round trek to the Khurja Mata Mandir at Mandir Chowk. This activity aimed to build endurance, enhance the visibility of the Sleepwell Foundation and pay homage to Shakti — the source of universal power.

Workshop on 5S Principles at Skill Development Centre, Khurja

30 September - 6 October 2024: A workshop to raise awareness about the principles and scope of 5S was held at the Skill Development Centre in Khurja on October 1, 2024. Mr. Karmveer Singh, AFT Trainer and Incharge of 5S Implementation, presented the fundamental principles of 5S, its potential applications within the SDC, and the advantages it brings to daily organizational life. The session was attended by all Centre staff, including support personnel.

Farewell to Paramedical Trainees — Batch
2023-24

30 September - 6 October 2024: Paramedical training for the DMLT and OTT Batch of 2023-24 concluded on September 30, 2024. Sixteen successful trainees are now starting their internships at various hospitals in Bulandshahr, Aligarh and Greater Noida. SDC gave an emotional farewell to the outgoing trainees, marking a significant milestone in their journey.

Physical and Medical Tests for SSC GD Candidates Underway

30 September - 6 October 2024: The physical tests for candidates who passed the written exam for SSC GD are currently taking place at the CISF Centre in Surajpur, Greater Noida, while medical tests are being conducted at Kailash Hospital, Pari Chowk, Greater Noida. Seven trainees from the Col Gautam Academy for Armed Forces are participating in the PT Test. Abhilash Raghav, Mukul Sharma and Chetan Raghav have successfully excelled, bringing accolades to the Academy. The remaining trainees will also undergo the PT Test, and we are optimistic about their success.

Former Trainees Inspire Current Students at SDC

30 September - 6 October 2024: Two former trainees, Priyanka and Neha, currently training for the Delhi Police (Constable), visited SDC as part of a motivational initiative. They engaged with all the trainers of Col Gautam Academy for Armed Forces and interacted with the current trainees, offering valuable tips on training and succeeding in selection tests. Their personal experiences and journey to success served to motivate the girl trainees significantly.

Block Pramukh Mrs. Monika Singh Visits SDC, Promotes Collaboration with Village Pramukhs

23-29 September 2024: On September 23, 2024, Mrs. Monika Singh, Block Pramukh of Khurja Block, visited SDC, where she was briefed by the CSR Head about the various initiatives of the center. Mrs. Singh recommended that SDC representatives participate in the Jan Chaupal to engage with Village Pramukhs and encourage their support for Sleepwell Foundation's activities. She also extended an invitation to the CSR Head to visit the Block Office.

Survey of Local Schools to Identify Students for Sainik School Admissions

23-29 September 2024: As registration for Uttar Pradesh Sainik Schools began, a team of Sainik School trainers, led by the CSR Head, visited Government Primary Schools in Rohinda and Mirpur near the Skill Development Centre, Kurja. They met with the Principals to explore opportunities for preparing students for the Sainik School entrance exams.

SDC Seeks Internship Opportunities for Paramedical Trainees at Leading Hospitals

23-29 September 2024: The first batch of DMLT and OTT courses in the Paramedical Department will conclude on September 30, 2024, followed by a mandatory six-month internship. To secure placements, the SDC is pursuing partnerships with leading hospitals. The CSR Head met with Dr. Ram Murti Sharma, Medical Superintendent of Sharada Hospital, and the HR Admin of the Government Institute of Medical Sciences, Greater Noida, to explore internship opportunities. Dr. Sharma expressed willingness to consider the request.

Exploring Vocational Courses Under NEP at Manniya Kashiram College, Gabhana

23-29 September 2024: To support the government’s mandate for 50% of higher education learners to engage in vocational education, the SDC plans to collaborate with nearby colleges to offer NEP-mandated courses. The CSR Head visited Manyawar Kanshi Ram Government Degree College, affiliated with Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, to meet with Principal Dr. Anita Rani Rathore. Their discussions were productive, with Dr. Rathore expressing interest in courses like English Communication, Beautician, Fashion Designing, Hospitality, and Logistics.

23-29 September 2024: The weekly Shramdaan took place on Wednesday, promoting the dignity of labor and the belief that all work holds equal social value. This practice, a long-standing tradition at SDC Khurja, is rooted in principles of equality, dignity of labor, and religious harmony.

A New Tradition Begins at SDC Khurja with Unified Birthdays Celebration

16-22 September 2024: In a first-of-its-kind initiative proposed by our Managing Trustee, Ms. Namia Gautam, the birthdays of all staff members born in a particular month will be celebrated together on a designated day. Following this, the birthday of Mr. Ashwini Kumar, the only staff member born in August, was celebrated on September 20, 2024.

16-22 September 2024: On September 17, 2024, the staff and students of SDC, Khurja celebrated Vishwakarma Puja to honor Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect. The SDC community sought his blessings for improved prospects, safer working environments, and greater prosperity for the organization, along with the smooth operation of tools and machinery to ensure successful and productive training.

16-22 September 2024: Trainees at the Sleepwell Foundation’s Col Gautam Academy for Armed Forces who have cleared the written exams for AGNIVEER (Army) and the UP Constable Recruitment Test will appear for Physical Fitness Test, to be held in November-December 2024. Under the guidance of Gen VK Ahluwalia, they are currently undergoing intensive training, supervised by Physical Trainer Mr. Youngveer Singh, with ongoing support from the CSR Head.

Virtual Review Meeting Highlights Success and Future Plans for Paramedical Training

9-15 September 2024: A virtual review meeting with the Principal of DPMI and CSR Head of SDC Khurja took place on September 10, 2024. All trainers from the Paramedical Training Department participated in the discussion. Key topics included mobilization, admissions, course coverage, and training effectiveness. The Principal expressed satisfaction with the training conducted at SDC Khurja, noting positive feedback on trainee performance from hospitals. In response to the CSR Head’s request, the Principal agreed to assist in locating additional hospitals for internships.

Transforming SDC-1: 5S Drive Enhancements

9-15 September 2024: The 5S Drive has successfully been organized in the Computer Lab, Reception Area, and SDC-1 Courtyard Area of SDC-1. The focus has been on implementing the "Set in Order" step to enhance organization and efficiency in these spaces.

NR Public School Staff Tours Sleepwell Foundation SDC

2-8 September 2024: The CSR Head invited NR Public School staff to visit the Sleepwell Foundation Skill Development Centre to explore its initiatives and state-of-the-art facilities. On September 3, 2024, Principal and 40 faculty members toured the Centre, received a briefing, and were encouraged to become Ambassadors to help enhance societal impact.

CSR Head Visits Zenith Public School

2-8 September 2024: The CSR Head visited Zenith Public School in Khurja to boost visibility and engagement. He met with Director Mr. Rathi and the Principal to discuss the philanthropic efforts of the Sleepwell Foundation at the Skill Development Centre. The conversation also covered how emotional wellness workshops contribute to a more holistic and enjoyable school education.

CSR Head Visits DAV PG College Bulandshahr

2-8 September 2024: The CSR Head visited DAV PG College Bulandshahr at the invitation of Principal Prof. Renu Agrawal. They discussed implementing Hospitality and Logistics and Supply Chain Management courses, newly added to the SDC course-list. The Principal agreed to introduce the Logistics and Supply Chain Management course in the next session and to host an orientation workshop for students about the new courses.

2-8 September 2024: As part of the 5S methodology, the Main Store of SDC-1 introduced the "Set in Order" phase, emphasizing the principle, "A place for everything and everything in its place." Students were also involved in the initiative, learning the importance of organization and being encouraged to maintain a systematic approach to their surroundings.

Market Visit for Fashion Design Trainees

On August 31, 2024, the graduating Fashion Design Trainees visited traditional markets in Delhi to explore various fabrics and gain valuable purchasing experience.

Farewell for Outgoing Beautician Course Batch

A farewell was held for the outgoing Beautician Course batch on August 30, 2024. The event featured a program and lunch, attended by the trainer, coordinator, and trainees. The CSR Head extended congratulations and best wishes to the graduates on behalf of the Managing Trustee and staff.

Improved Access Road at SDC to Enhances Safety

During the monsoon, the muddy access road from NH 39 to the Centre was hazardous for bikers. To address this, SDC staff coordinated with Cube Highways, resulting in a 2-meter thick zinc dust layer over the brick pathway, significantly improving road safety.

5S: Setting in Order

The "Setting in Order" principle was implemented in the Main Store of SDC-1, embodying the idea of "A place for everything and everything in its place." Students participated in the drive to learn about the 5S methodology and are now expected to maintain an organized environment.

Farewell Tribute to Col Mohanjeet Singh Pathania

On August 23, Col Mohanjeet Singh Pathania, CSR Head, concluded his tenure at SDC Khurja due to personal reasons. To honour his contributions, the SDC staff organized a farewell program, including a lunch and a heartfelt send-off.

On August 23, 2024, we held an Advanced Excel workshop tailored for trainers and trainees. The session focused on enhancing skills in data management, analysis, and reporting. Streamlining the Main Store: 5S "Setting in Order" Initiative

Mr. Karmveer Singh led a 5S initiative at the Main Store in SDC-1, focusing on "Setting in Order" (Seiton). He was supported by Mrs. Ritu Rani Singh and Mr. Shekhar Sharma in implementing this drive.

Independence Day Celebrations

Independence Day at SDC was marked by vibrant festivities, with the CSR Head hoisting the national tricolor in front of over 125 trainees and most of the training staff.

Independence Day Celebrations: Beautician Course Trainees

Beautician Course trainees, guided by their trainer Ms. Shahana, organized a special Independence Day celebration on August 14, 2024, dressed in tricolor costumes and makeup, in alignment with the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign of the Government of India.

Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally and Awareness Campaign:

To boost SDC Khurja's visibility, a bike rally was organized, featuring trainees and trainers waving the national tricolor. The event drew significant attention from Khurja residents, who gathered to watch. Announcements about SDC courses and patriotic songs were broadcasted. The rally ended at Kabadi Chowk with a tribute to Shahid Chandrashekhar Azad, followed by refreshments for participants. The event concluded by 11 am.

Personality Development & Communication Skills Session for DPMI Trainees

CSR Head Shri Bijay Kumar Pandey led a special soft skills session for DPMI paramedical trainees, emphasizing the critical role of personality and communication skills in securing, sustaining, and advancing in employment.

On August 12, 2024, we conducted an Advanced Excel training for our trainers, staff members and trainees. The goal was to streamline data management, analysis, and reporting capabilities of the participants.

Coaching for the new batch of eligible students from nearby villages aiming for entry into Sainik Schools began on August 11, 2024. Currently, the batch includes 11 candidates, with more expected to join in the coming days. A well-crafted mobilization plan, involving visits to nearby schools and villages, is set to yield positive results.

Preparation of Girls' Hostel - Project IIMPACT

The preparation of the proposed Girls' Hostel for the anticipated arrival of seven girls from Lakhimpur Kheri under Project IIMPACT is in full swing. Cleaning and renovation have been completed, with white-washing scheduled for completion next week.

Success in SSC GD Exam

Three of our students qualified for the SSC GD exam this year. We wish them success as they progress to the physical tests. Additionally, more students have joined us for physical test training.

Perfect Success as 48 Students Excel in Paramedical Test

Infrastructure Expansion to Enrich Student Experience and Capacity

Developmental activities are integral to our growth-oriented organizational model. Recently, we have expanded our infrastructure to enhance our offerings to students. These expansions include new labs for DMLT and OTT, a new office for Staqo, a new beautician lab, upgraded electricity capacity, a grand main gate reflecting our brand, and hiring additional trainers to accommodate more students.

NEP New Session

Fresh registrations for new batches from AKP College under the NEP-20 have commenced since last Saturday, and the momentum is building up. Classes are scheduled to commence from April 20, 2024.
