The first batch of 116 pass out trainees received their Course Completion Certificates in Basic Computer & English Communication Skills.

Mr. Rahul Gautam, CMD, Sheela Foam Ltd and Mr. Vikram Kumar, GM, NIIT Foundation distributed Certificates amidst thundering applause from the audience comprising of young trainees, their parents and other dignitaries.

The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp followed by the greatest ever inspirational song of the century, “We shall overcome” presented by little children of the Centre. It was amazing to see determination in their eyes and confidence in their voice. It touched the hearts of one and all.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vikram Kumar expressed praise for the vision of SWF for setting up this facility in a rural area and for the selection of the curriculum which will lay the foundation to empower the trainees to be job ready. He also announced the introduction of some vocational Computer courses at the Centre.

Mr. Rahul Gautam said that the Centre is a guiding beacon in the right direction and it is only a matter of time before the reputation of the Centre through it’s trainees, will reach far & wide.

Ms. Namita Gautam, Managing Trustee, SWF in her address said, “Today is a very happy and happening day for this institution. As I see the expression of joy on the faces of these young trainees, I feel rewarded and contended. I see our humble contribution in shaping the future career of these young trainees”.

Upon the selection of courses — basic computer and basic english, she stressed that these are the basic skills for livelihood today and the rural youth, especially girls should have access to these skills.

10 TRAINEES – 5 GIRLS AND 5 BOYS, WHO PERFORMED OUTSTANDINGLY WELL IN EACH COURSE WERE AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP BY THE FOUNDATION. THE AWARDEES WILL BE ENTITLED TO PURSUE ANY ONE COURSE AT THE CENTRE FREE OF CHARGE

This passing out ceremony marks the beginning of an organized human resource skilling phenomenon and will be a turning point in the economic change that is taking place in Rural India.
